Lead the development and execution of forward-thinking business intelligence and data management strategies that are closely aligned with company goals and long-term growth. Champion a culture of curiosity and continuous learning, inspiring a high-performing team of analysts, engineers, and developers to challenge the status quo and explore emerging technologies — including AI and machine learning — to unlock new analytical capabilities and drive smarter decision-making.
Oversee the design and maintenance of BI tools, data warehouses, and governance frameworks, while proactively identifying opportunities to modernize and evolve the data ecosystem. Leverage AI-driven insights and automation to enhance data quality, operational efficiency, and the speed at which the organization can act on information.
Serve as a strategic thought partner to the executive leadership team, collaborating cross-functionally to co-develop innovative, data-driven solutions that address complex business challenges and position the organization for the future. Translate a bold, strategic vision into executable roadmaps that bridge the gap between today's data infrastructure and tomorrow's business needs.
Essential Functions
Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute a comprehensive BI and data management strategy aligned with organizational goals and positioned for long-term growth. Act as a trusted strategic advisor and business partner to executive leadership and cross-functional teams — translating business challenges and growth goals into actionable data strategies. Provide clear vision, direction, and hands-on mentorship to the BI & Data Management team. Demonstrate the ability to operate effectively at both the strategic and tactical level, stepping into the details with the team when needed to solve complex problems.
Cross-Functional Collaboration & Stakeholder Management: Build deep, trusted partnerships across Marketing, Finance, Operations, IT, and other business units. Listen actively to business problems and goals, then translate those needs into clear data initiatives and deliverables. Communicate complex data concepts and insights in accessible, actionable terms for non-technical stakeholders. Navigate complex stakeholder environments and influence decisions at all levels of the organization.
Data Governance: Establish, enforce, and continuously refine data governance policies to ensure data quality, consistency, security, and regulatory compliance. Oversee data stewardship practices and manage the full data lifecycle — including acquisition, storage, transformation, and archiving — to maintain a trusted and reliable data environment. Promote transparency of data definitions, ownership, and lineage across the organization.
Business Intelligence & Analytics: Lead the design and development of dashboards, reports, and data visualizations that deliver actionable insights to stakeholders at all levels. Partner with business units to define and track key performance indicators. Champion the advancement of analytics capabilities, including machine learning and predictive modeling, to drive measurable business outcomes and a deeper understanding of organizational performance.
Data Management & Architecture: Oversee the architecture, performance, and evolution of data warehouses and data lakes, ensuring scalability, reliability, and long-term effectiveness. Make smart decisions about the use of internal team resources versus external vendors and partners, optimizing for speed, quality, and cost. Manage vendor relationships strategically to optimize data tools, platforms, and solutions that support the organization's growing needs.
Team Development & Uplift: Build, lead, and inspire a high-performing team of data professionals by cultivating a culture of curiosity, psychological safety, accountability, and continuous growth. Invest heavily in team development — coaching individuals, identifying skill gaps, and creating pathways for growth. Foster an environment where team members are empowered to develop solutions, grow their expertise, and advance their careers. Bring out the best in every team member through mentorship, clear expectations, and recognition.
Innovation & Continuous Improvement: Maintain a forward-looking mindset by staying current on emerging BI, data, and AI trends — proactively assessing their potential impact and applicability to the organization. Lead initiatives to enhance data processes, methodologies, and infrastructure. Champion the exploration and adoption of AI and emerging technologies, with a track record of translating innovative ideas into proven, scalable solutions that help the organization evolve and stay ahead of the curve.
Other Duties: Perform additional tasks, duties, and responsibilities as needed or assigned by leadership to support departmental and organizational objectives.
