Position Summary:

The Employee Relations Specialist will support the Employee Relations team by assisting with case management, policy application, and employee support. Contribute to a consistent and fair employee experience through documentation, tracking, and communication. Partner with cross-functional departments to support conflict resolution and employee engagement efforts. Help ensure policies, procedures, and employment laws are applied consistently. Provide a high level of confidentiality and professionalism in all interactions.

Status: Full-time | Salaried

Location: Omaha, NE | Onsite

Responsibilities:

  • Case Support and Documentation: Maintain accurate records of employee relations (ER) cases, including intake, documentation, and follow-up. Prepare standard case-related documentation, such as performance memos, corrective action, and summaries. Track trends and recurring issues to support proactive solutions.
  • Policy and Compliance: Apply enterprise policies and procedures consistently in collaboration with the team. Support adherence to employment laws and internal standards. Communicate clearly and professionally with internal stakeholders regarding policy interpretation.
  • Investigation Assistance: Support the ER leadership team with employee complaints and workplace investigations. Take notes, organize documentation, and prepare follow-ups or summaries as needed. Maintain confidentiality throughout the investigation process.
  • Employee Engagement and Outreach: Respond to employee inquiries with professionalism, empathy, and clarity. Help collect and track exit feedback, open-door concerns, and other forms of employee input. Act as a point of contact for team members navigating sensitive issues.
  • Other Duties: Perform additional tasks, duties, and responsibilities as needed or assigned by leadership to support departmental and organizational objectives

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (e.g., GED) required
  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, psychology, or related field OR equivalent combination of education and experience combined (one year of experience equals one year of education) required
  • Minimum of one year of human resources or employee relations experience required
  • Familiarity with employment law, workplace policy, and basic employee relations practices required
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism in sensitive situations required
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills required
  • Experience working with HR information systems and documentation tools preferred
